and away we go

another year of homeschooling, despite my reservations.  and this blogging thing seems to serve a need that waxes and wanes as i go along, if my inconsistent posting and long absences are any reflection on reality. 

i need a place to chat about what we are doing as we progress in this second full year of homeschooling.  we are working on some 2nd and some 3rd grade lessons this year.

today r worked on reading, vocabulary, journaling, sketching, and is about to start on her math as soon as the toddler wakes up.  that's the structured stuff.  she's also cleaned her room (relative term, with her! but it's better than it was this morning!) and done some creative play with dressing up. 

today r was more helpful than usual with the work outside with the chickens, and really tried to show that she could step up and help more when things were challenging and i was stressed out!  i appreciated that so much.

she is excited about taking part in the water communion this sunday at the fellowship, as she gets to take an active role waving around some big dyed silks during a story about water.

i am planning a nice long walk this afternoon after baby wakes and it cools down a bit.  this whole place is abuzz with excitement and work since the music shows/grand opening are happening tomorrow and so much is going on.
